Losing weight after pregnancy is one of the thoughts a new mother has once the joy of bringing a new life into the world has worn off a little; this is a perfectly natural reaction. Although some blame must be attributed to the press with their constant bombardment for celebrities who have managed to reclaim their figure in record time. The fact that they have access to their own physical trainers and dieticians to help achieve weight loss after pregnancy for example is not mentioned; of course the time dedicated to regaining their figure is also disproportionate to the average mother.

Most things to help with weight loss after pregnancy are not available to the regular person on the street who will have to face the challenge generally on their own. More importantly the new mother should focus on the general recovery from giving birth by eating healthily and looking after her child. If the diet is set for 2,000 calories that should be sufficient but it should always contain a tiny amount of fiber; the main constituents of her daily diet should be:

* 50 percent carbohydrates * Thirty percent intake of protein * 10 percent fats

This will typically allow for a few of the mothers favorite foods which she should be allowed to enjoy after everything she has been through. Although a new born child takes a great deal of care and time, it is still necessary for a mother to attempt some form of regular exercise which will also improve her metabolism and stamina. The exercise doesn’t have to be anything that is heavy, moderate and regular are the key aspects here as this way you will also enjoy it, although you won’t start seeing the benefits immediately.

How quickly you experience weight loss after pregnancy at this stage will depend on many things including how much you gained during the previous nine months. It is generally understood that after giving birth most women’s bodies make considerable adjustments; these adjustments can make losing excess pounds quite difficult. To achieve the best results when trying to lose weight after pregnancy is to take things steadily by maintaining that diet you started; and continue exercising but keeping an eye on how quickly the weight is coming off as it should be slow but steady.

Remember that your body gained fat slowly so you need to lose it the same way and any muscle tone that was lost will come back the same way through exercise; rapid weight loss can end up in rapid weight gain! With careful planning, your weight and physical fitness level should improve back to its original state within a reasonable amount of time. Getting your figure back is perfectly possible after pregnancy and most women will achieve this but some may find that those last few annoying pounds just won’t go until the breast feeding has ended.
